Gymnastics: A Poem

Submitted by Isabella Pittman (Junior Tech)

A way with birds

Silver wing tips

Thoughts after words

Sixteen back flips

The Flips don’t stop

Gymnastics, no master

Forced to run fast

It only gets faster

Speed is a factor

With liquids like air

Coke-a-cola lungs

And a wood swivel chair

Here when not there

There when not here

All I do is exist

Inside limited sphere

Deprived of 4 circles

But I like my shoes better

No one-way streets

City sad but a treasure

Time hard to measure

Time adds pressure

However, I’m not leaving

I’m tethered

To this endeavor
